Reminds me of an Emile Mercier cartoon (Emile's cartoons were in the Sydney
afternoon paper THE SUN during the 50s).
The conductor of a crowded tram has queried why the driver is not stopping,
his reply "Ar, why stop? ... The people inside can't get out, the people
outside can't get in, so don't worry!"
