Steel Mississippi on track to start

The first span of the Steel Mississippi – a $10 billion rail line
linking  Melbourne to Darwin – was on track to be built this year,
project manager Everald Compton said yesterday. Building the first span,
a few kilometres of track and a bridge over the MacIntyre River, to
connect Moree in NSW to the Queensland border town of Goondiwindi would
start on October 26, Mr Compton said.
