(TAS) Western Line Centenary

Today marks the 100th year of the opening of the Western Line between
Ulverstone and Burnie.

Focus of attention was at Penguin. The old railway station was
re-erected on site, and the Don River Railway has been running trains
from th era and more modern in and out of the station.

Organisers were expecting around 7000 to attend, and by all accounts,
this may have been exceeded.

A fine day at Penguin ensured a very successful day.

Pictures will no doubt be available online somewhere soon.
