Dubbo and Parkes are set to become major inland freight ports, delegates
to the Australian Inland Rail Expressway conference heard yesterday.
They were also told that the construction of the expressway, which will
link Melbourne to Brisbane and Gladstone via inland NSW, will start on
October 26 this year with a crossing of the McIntyre River at
Carrington.
