There were *over* 100,000 people at the first dress rehearsal (the stadium
only holds 110,000). All of them were subject to the same security checks,
and used the same transport modes as the real thing.

Shouldn't be too many problems with a combination of Olympic timetable /
school holidays / altered work hours.

The Easter show which you have mentioned, goes for several weeks, not just
weekends. Admitedly it is held mostly during school holidays, but then
again, so is the Olympics.
