At the ARE meeting on Thurs.28.9 it was announced that the planned tour
to India to take part in the formal recommissioning of DHR as a
world-heritage railway has been postponed: planning uncertainty, and the
declining AUD.
Meanwhile, a USA group is leaving Los Angeles on 24.10 for a tour which
will have steam over the whole DHR line, by chartering a train (and
hence having photostops). The organiser is encouraging people from
elsewhere to share in this venture.
