QR's proposal diesel tilt train timetable

RD September issue has got QR's proposal timetable for Cairns Tilt
train:


There will be 7 services weekly to Cairns or daily service to Cairns:

The DT would make 4 return trips between Brisbane and Cairns, Sunlander
would reduce to 2 weekly and Queenslander remains same frequency,
Spirit of Tropics remains the same. The advantage of this timetable is
there would be daily service between Brisbane and Cairns, disadvantage
is there would be one less sleeper servcie each week.


RD also said a rumor Diesel tilt train will operate from Brisbane to
Townsville and connect with a sleeper servcie to Cairns. This is hard
to believe as the track alignment between Townsville and Rockhampton is
very poor and it takes 12 hour for this stretch of 700km+ along, it's
almost impossible to complete this(Brisbane-Townsville) journey in one
day unless massive imvestment on track improvement to reduce the
travelling time between these 2 towns.

VirginBlue will introduce Brisbane-Cairns flight soon, diesel tilt
train will have to be competitive in price and comfort inorder to stay
in business. How about introduce sleepers on them?
