[Melb] Hawksburn fatality

A woman died instantly when she was struck by a train in
Melbourne's eastern suburbs this morning. Police said they were
still trying to identify the woman following the incident at
Hawksburn Railway Station shortly before 8.45am.
The woman, described as being middle aged and of Asian
appearance, was trying to cross the train line with a shopping
trolley and a number of shopping bags.
Police said the woman ignored the pedestrian crossing available
to take a short cut to the central platform.
An express train heading towards Melbourne was bypassing the
station when it struck the woman. The driver of the train was
undergoing counselling, police said.

The express train was a set of two sprinters.
