Actually I was at the meeting that the operations managers first
proposed the idea of using the dock as a platform. The meeting was
originally for SPAD's and using Intermediate trainstops. And yes there
were drivers reps there too. Anyway they assured me that an 8 car set
would fit. Not that it worried me if it didn't because there was no way
of lengthening it anyway. And when we completed it, I wheeled out the
track length which came to 195m. I thought that an 8 car set came to
about 180m in length but apparently the V-sets are longer. I had a good
laugh too when I found out the first 8 car set they put in was just a
tad too long.
