No Captain it was not on fire, its a bit like a haystack [but not the same]
Briquettes when bulk loaded do retain a lot of heat, and it was a normal
thing for Double headed L electrics to roar through Springvale at night,
with heavy smoke pouring out of every trailing vehicle.
I do remember the Fire Brigade called once to Caulfield, when flames were
noticed.
