OT: magnesite [was Re: Port Pirie plant almost a reality]



That reminds me that there was a small magnesite mine near Mundallio
homestead (between Stirling North and Pichi Richi Pass) that I visited in
1974 whilst on a school trip. Exciting times back then, with the
commencement of the Indian Pacific, the new Whyalla line, the commencement
of the Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society and still being possible to
catch the old Ghan.
