Thanks Micric

With respect to the ring road I had in mind a particular set up.

It is virtually inevitable that the ring rd will be extended to the Scorebsy
Freeway and beyond.

The idea I had in mind would have involved the following:

1. Extension of Glen Waverley line to Rowville so that it cuts across the
Scoresby Freeway.

2. Extension of Burwood Tram to Bayswater and Nth Boronia (follow Mountian
Highway)

3. Build bus/train or bus/tram interchange statiions along the freeway as
follows

At the intersections of the ring road and

a) St Albans line (not sure which station)

b) Broadmeadows line

c) Fawkner line

d) Epping line

e) Greensborough line

f) Belgrave/Lilydale line

g) Nth Boronia tram

h) Scoresby line

i) Dandenong line

j) Frankston line

Where freeways intersect (ie the South Eastern) Bus interchanges could be
built as well. In total that would equate to about 20 interchanges.

The model for this is the northern line in Perth which functions evry well.
fast trains run up the middle of teh freeway and the interchanges make
changing to buses easy.

The above system would create a relatively cheap, fast cross town link.

My preferred option would be the same setup with a train running down the
middle of the ring road but teh bus option is cheaper and not too much
slower.

Seesm to work ok in Perth
