We lived in Brisbane in the time Expo was on, a few years before, and a few
months after. There were about four levels of bus services, from the all
stops, to the skip stops, to the partial expresses to the CityXpress. All
of these ran in conjunction with each other. If I went to the bus stop at
the end of my road and had to wait more that 10 minutes for a bus, something
was wrong. And believe it or not, the CityXpresses are packed, day and
night (any banana benders want to comment here??). The last time I caught a
bus in Brisbane was in peak hour, to Moggill, it was SRO with another bus
going to leave about 5 minutes behind. It all came down to the frequency of
service and reliability.

I wonder why Queenslanders are looked upon as being slow when they
continually prove that they can outdo the rest of the country in a lot of
things (public transport, sport, regional development.. the list goes on).
