Re: Safety first in rail system's radical revamp

Now let me get this right. John Cowling , CEO of Rail Access, is admitting
that safety was overlooked in the break-up of State Rail? That is what the
Sydney Morning Herald's story says!

But the first CEO of Rail Access was Judi Stack, who amongst her multitude
of earlier jobs, was CEO of the Transport Accident Investigation Commission
in New Zealand. A safety body, or so it purports to be.......

And only a few weeks ago, there was a posting on this newsgroup about the
size of bonuses paid to rail executives in NSW, which included $70,000 paid
to Judi Stack.

I know we cocked rail privatisation up in NZ, but surely you Aussies could
have learned a thing or two and got it right.
