Re: More electrification

Interesting news item in December2000 edition of Australian PC Authority
magazine. NEC are about to announce the successful development of a polymer
battery which will 'revolutionise the market with never before seen power supply
capabilities'. It goes on to say that "it could give up to 10 times the power
of double layer capacitors and be the highest capacity electrochemical device in
the world".

So what?

Whilst the article talks mainly about computer applications, it also mentions
possible use for electric vehicles. So maybe the world of truly practical and
powerful battery powered cars is no more than a few years away, and all this
talk about the fuel crisis may become an irrelevant smokescreen (pun intended).
