Not a smart question!  Sydney trams regularly (ie not on a one off
basis) moved people at the rate of 1,000 per minute from venues such as
the Sydney Cricket Ground, the Sydney Showground and Randwick
Racecourse.  See Eco-Transit's publication "Letters of Transit No.1
April 2000" which quotes from a 1934 paper prepared by Patrick J
Timmony, Assistant Chief Traffic Manager, Department of Road Transport
and Tramways.
