I was at North Sydney at around 10:15am yesterday. The platforms 1 & 2
resembled morning peak hour with trains trying to unload thousands of
people.
To move 51000 people in 30 minutes on a Sunday is remarkable - What
other Australian rail system (or overseas system) could accomplish that?
Several things that stood out for CityRail:
- Trains were very clean, internally and externally.
- Station staff were well dress and informed of what was happening.
- Guards on trains made numerous announcements informing "customers"
where the best place was to get off, etc.
- There were no breakdowns, derailments or jammed points (!)
If only it was like that every day.....
