Sydney-Melbourne or Sydney-Brisbane have less then 30 trains a day(if
you only counts those run between point to point from Sydney to
Melbourne only) let along Darwin-Alice Spring.

Lucky if you can get a Seatrain from Sydney or Melbourne to Darwin.
Ghan would probabily run twice weekly from Sydney or Melbourne respectly
