Re: Re: [NSW] Airport line at Flying Junctions

I only read it there...so much for trying to have something interesting to discuss!!!

Gnome 412 got bored on Sat, 27 May 2000 18:47:24 +1000 and so wrote the following:

Hubert Lam ran out of opinions and quoted someone else from "Australian
          Transport Discussion Board":

          >That means if there is a fatality at Circular Quay for instance, on the
outer line, NO TRAINS can go
          >to the airport. Trains cannot be diverted. No room for flexibility. If a
          fatality occurs on the
          >Inner line at Circular Quay, NO TRAINS can come from the Airport Line and
          proceed around the inner.

If the City Outer is blocked at Circular Quay, most trains will be diverted
to the City Inner. The options for Airport trains are
i terminate at the crossover at the Museum end of Central (as is done
          every weekend)
ii run them via the City Inner, then express to Turrella to reverse to
the Airport. This pattern was considered briefly during last Wednesday's
          hold-up.

easier when nothing else is on the City Inner)
ii run them out normally via the City Outer to East Hills, then back to
Central via Sydenham. Note that these trains could not terminate at
Turrella as there is no connection from the dead end or the down platform to
the up EH line to Tempe.
