The NT Government has allocated $50 million of their
promised $165 million to get the project under way.
A logistics and supply office would be set up in Alice
Springs with headquarters in Darwin.
The Chief Minister also said, "complex financial
negotiations between AustralAsia Rail Corp and their
bankers was close to completion".
Major construction of earthworks and bridges are
expected to start in Sept or Oct this year.
