It went off at Sims street junction. It looked like the last 3 maybe 4
wagons, one of which was a 2 pack and it lost a bogie in the process.
It wasn't just the XPT thatwas affected. 9420 was terminated @ Tott.
and originated then from Melb. yd. The light engine for 9083 had to go
via the main line and Sunshine to get to Totty. The SCT loco on the up
didn't get to the pit and was to be sent back of the out bound SCT with
G531 which had gone out much earlier to jump start the pilot. The Tolls
locos had to get to Dynon via Sth Dynon. 9557 and 9559 were cancelled.
The loco off 9420 to make 9141 had to go via Sunshine and the main line
to get to Dynon.
Nothing would have got out of Sth Dynon.
Reports were that it would take at least 6 hours to clear, wonder how
long it did take if it's even cleared yet?
