          Sorry, if I confused you, but I rarely travel in the 4th carriage so don't
          know about electric motors, traction etc. as I not an expert in electric
          trains...
          
          My point is - does traction motor work or still operates in the middle D***
          cars of the Tangara ie. the 8 car consists of {T17 D***, N***, N***, D***
          (which I been in today) & T45 D***, N***, N***, D***.} as I did not hear the
          normal electric acceration sound. And does all D*** meant to operate their
          traction motors or just some selected ones?

are there motors in D code cars? I have my doubts. 
and what's this traction motor have to do with a "chopper control"? (slightly more technical
explaination would be greatly appreciated with this one!)
