This is fully fund by private sector/local council IIRC for the
convinence of people take curse ship from overseas or Tasmania to
recieve better access to public transport rather then pulling their
heavy luggage at the windy and usually rainy pier. IIRC the extension
is not very long , just all the way to the pier(aprox 200m).
