Hanging from the awning at the Macdonaldtown end of Platform 2 at Newtown is
a Monitor hooked up to a new video camera. This monitor has been installed
because Newtown is a very narrow platform and it is hard for the Guard to
see the front two cars of the train, especially during peak hour when there
is a crowd of people around the bottom of the stairs. How long will it last
before it is broken by vandals?
