To get rock solid information you should ask the STA planning officer,
last time I checked Brian (Mander) was running that bit but I haven't
checked for a while.

You are correct the Airport Express services quite a few hotels so is
unlikely to be disbanded. As for patronage, half of it is sourced at
Central Station and Circular Quay (300) in the morning peak airport
bound, there are many more passengers from Raiwlay to Airport Express
The 350 has a different profile but it still has quite a bit of
patronage from Central Station.

So if say 80 percent or more of that moves to the faster train service
then you're looking at a much less patronage on the Airport Express
service. The train is more convenient and less susceptible to traffic.

The only thing that will depress passenger journeys will be the cost.
And that really depends on how stingy Sydneysiders are.
