Brian Langton never used the departmental car - he lives at Carlton and
always used the trains to travel to/from his office in the city.. He might
not have been a very cluey politician but as a Minister for Transport he
certainly did the right thing and put his money where his mouth is by using
the very system his department administered.

If more senior government types did that instead of falling for the 'red
carpet' treatment the public would feel much more assured that their
transport system was being well-managed since the very people elected to
government by the people were using it. Such would be life in an ideal
world... 8-)

Craig.
