Re: FV/FA loco maintainence

Very intersting that WABTEC are now on the scene re FA. This company through
its subsideries has some intersting product to call on. SHould FA successfully
get hold of Westrail...then those L's would look prime candidates to rebuild
using WABTECS Q-tron into dash three specs. They through Boise Locomotive have
some new road switchers lurking in the wings apparently....maybe these would
be built under licence here???..all conjecture!! :-)

Still with some new road switchers lurking in the Boise catalog (not shown but
refered to!!) it could be very intersting should FA opt for some new power.
They then might have a choice of going through Clyde to get some variation on
the GT46MAC...or through WABTEC for whatever they are asking...whilst still
maintaining a high GM parts content...could get interesting!!

Yet another possibility ( though arguably very unlikely!!) is to source
rebuild parts out of states ...trucks engines alternators etc..build into new
frame and body for Oz..dash 3's on the cheap..after all FA is probably not
after a huge number ala Motive Power agreeemens of Freight RAil....for 10 - 20
locos this might indeed be an option...well its just an idea :-))
This gets more intersting by the day!!
