The Tulloch railcars (DRC to Victorians) in NSW were less than successful in
their intended role on the Riverina Express, I don't know how long they
lasted on that service. They worked with the Budds on the Illawarra but
never on their own, and were finally converted to loco-hauled cars.
Were the ones sold to Victoria which became DRCs any better?
