Re: Most hated trains in Australia! :-) (was: Favourite train/tram [Aus wide])

Does it have to be passenger rollingstock? If not, those awful NSW grain
hoppers, any container hauling rollingstock. (Bring back the boxcars, open
wagons, etc)

>What suburban train do you hate?

Without a doubt, S/R/L sets in NSW.

>What interurban train do you hate?

H sets. The windows are tiny. They are rough as guts. Seats are
uncomfortable. And they were built out of the poor old Harris trains that
didn't do anything wrong to deserve this treatment (-:

>What intercity train do you hate?

Not much experience here really, I think the N sets. First class seats are
not the most comfortable, economy is like sitting in a sardine can, much
like the H sets. Once again, seats arent too comfortable here either.

>What Long Distance train do you hate?

XPT. Ever tried sleeping on one of those ba***rds

>What route do you hate?

City Loop. It's about as exciting as watching grass grow. Richmond-Box
Hill, and Caulfield-Mordialloc arent that crash hot either.

>What tram do you hate?

The post Kennett W class trams. Metcard machines, DOOM modifications, door
sensors that prevent the tram moving if something/someone is in the doorway
("stupidity filter"), and most of all that horrid modified paint scheme
that seems so much different from the original MMTB livery (bright cream
roof, very flat green - going by photos, the original had a more
grey/silver roof, and the green was a bit more rich, although not as rich
as the Met livery).

>What station do you hate?

Spencer Street, South Kensington, Jacana.
