Just listening to "The World Today" on the ABC...
The pre-feasability study for the Melbourne-Darwin railway has come back
saying that the project is viable, and would cost
approx 1.4billion.
Whilst I am far from convinced, it is interesting to see that the idea has
lasted this long since the last election. Of course, the fact that they are
swearing black & blue that they won't use government funds is probably a
winner with Canberra - whether that is the actual case remains to be seen.
hmm.... if they bide their time, they may not have to build the Tennant
Ck-Darwin section :-)
