Those may remember when I put an article in the Railway Digest (August 1998)
about me (as a guard) working an eight car "V" set from Lithgow to Sydney as
a "Day Of The Roses" train on 18 January 1997.
During a clean up, I found my diary for that day, and was reading the car
numbers I wrote down for W540 and one number sent shivers down my spine, DIM
8067, which was the car involved in the Glenbrook accident.
Unfortunately I did not write where it was marshalled in the train consist
due to the space I had in the diary.
However it was not the last time I saw DIM 8067, I also saw it on 19
November 1997 on a trip to Dapto and return (C459 & C464), and also saw it
on 12 January 1998 on a trip back from Mount Victoria (W518).
For the record, the car and set numbers for W540 where:
V7 - DIM 8066 - DIT 9181 - DIT 9119 - DIM 8063
V18 - DKM 8141 - DKT 9187 - DIT 9135 - DIM 8067
