Re: [NSW] Bankstown Derail today

According to the CityRail spokesperson the T-set went through the catch
points at the down end of the refuge at the western end of Bankstown station
(about 250m west of the platform).

Two people injured and taken to hospital.

The train totally fouled the down line also appeared to be well and truly
foul of the up line. The next up train was stopped short (no details given
on whether this was a close thing or not).

Was the derailed set to be held in the refuge to allow W3 to overtake and
the up service to enter Bankstown? The driver wasn't expecting to be
stopped by the dwarf signal (no train stop?) at the down end of the refuge?
