Yes, it was Chris Gordon and I, on a Vic/NSW rail 'pilgrimage'.
That day we happened to chase the GNR ballast train from somewhere up the
Maryborough branch, and from pure luck met the Overland at Ararat. The
previous day the same thing happened at Vite Vite loop. Pulled over for
quick inspection of car, heard a 5-chimer in the distance, and the Overland
came along eventually.
