The one Sean saw was R32--the only pocket rocket remaining in sector 3.
Sector 1 still has around 2 of them.
The interesting thing is that of all the Comeng motor cars there are on
R32, all of them are series 1--a total of 3 "series 1 Comeng" motor cars
out of the 4 (the other is a Goninan series 4).

Hi Sean - are you ANOTHER Penrith-based aus.railer?
The set you described - C-T-C,C-T-C - has been in general use
for a while
now, and are colloquially known as "pocket rocket's" - since
there have been
a large number of cars off for "conversion" to CityDecker's,
they have had a
lot more motors than trailers - this was one way of getting
them into
service.
