: Noticed today that the relatively new tram station serving the tennis centre has
: today (or maybe yesterday) been renamed. It was formerly Melbourne Park
: National Tennis Centre. It is now Melboune Park Rod Laver Arena. This will
: distinguish it from the next stop along the line which will serve the new second
: stadium at Melbourne Park - yet to be opened or named properly (or mercinarily)-
: its still called MPV (Multi-Purpose venue), and that tram station is called MPV
: & MCG (for the time being).
The tram stop was renamed because the centre court at Melbourne Park was
renamed to Rod Laver Arena.
Once the MPV gets a name I am sure that tram stop will be renamed.
