Durundur Railway



Tuesday, 18th January, The Australian Narrow Gauge Railway Museum Society
will be presented with a headboard at their museum site at Woodford,
Queensland. The headboard is being presented by Professor Ross Fitzgerald,
Chairman of the Centenary Of Federation - Queensland Committee and is to be
used on the front of Pleystowe No.5, the Bundaberg Fowler 0-6-2T during the
filming of a documentary for television tentaively titled - Bundy's Last
Great Adventure!. The Centenary of Federation - Queensland Committee are
sponsoring the documentary project which will involve the loco being used on
a number of mill tracks between Mossman and Nambour. During a visit to each
mill area local people having knowledge of earlier years in the sugar
industry (cane cutters, farmers, mill workers and cane railway drivers) will
be interviewed as part of the documentary project..
Friday, 21st January will see a crew from The Great South East (Channel 7)
filming the Durundur Railway for a segment on their program.
