ticket scam charges
An e mailer using the name "jeff kennett"has been identified as the person
responsible for the latest problems plaguing melbournes automatic rail
ticketing machines.
Melbourne transport police have charged dozens of people over the scam.
In november, subscribers to the rail enthusiasts' internet mail list
Aus.rail were invited to play the "Metcard Pokies".
a  message from an anonymous email address told subscribers were told how to
treat metrail's ticket machines like poker machines.
The message said if money was repeatedly inserted into the machines and then
cancelled, more than the original amount was sometimes returned.
The message also told how to make the machines malfunction.

Now who says that newsgroups like ours make national newspapers every day.
