Re: Any trains on Blayney - Cowra Line next week?

I doubt whether there will be any trains over this line in the short term -
apart from LVR's heritage trains. LVR has a charter to Woodstock in March
and an official first train (date unknown at this stage), but all the
points, sidings etc have been spiked and locked for the main line.
Effectively once a train departs Cowra or Blayney, it must continue on to
the end of the section (Blayney or Cowra respectively), unless a push-pull
configuration is run (locos cannot run around train). Moves will be taken to
have this situation reversed as it not only impacts on LVR, but any
operator. Also of note, the silos at Holmwood and Woodstock are isolated
from their rail connections due to this situation. The yard at Cowra has
also had all but the bare minimum of points locked and placed out of use,
leaving only one loop open, and access to Cowra loco.
In effect, the Cowra-Blayney line has been reopened for the use of freight
to travel through the section, but not to access any potential freight
either at Cowra or any point towards Blayney.
