OT - Third Millennium (was: Merry Christmas)

I look at it this way, the second millenium was completed just before 01/01/2000 0
hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds, etc... Once you move beyond that point you are into
the third millenium of the current christian calendar. When someone (eg: Jesus) is
0 years and several minutes, hours, days, etc... (whatever the case may be) old,
they are in the first year of their life. This year started on the moment of their
birth and ends at the exact point in time just before they reach 1 year old. The
exact point in time where they are 1 year old is exactly 1 year since their birth,
this also means they have lived for one year. If you start counting at 1 then you
say that the year 0 - just before 1 never existed and this is ridiculous!

According to this argument:

0000 - just before 1000 = first millenium
1000 - just before 2000 = second millenium.
2000 - just before 3000 = third millenium.

ie: the year 0 is the first year of the first millennium and the year 999 is the
last year of the first millenium. 1000 is the first year of the second millennium
and 1999 is the last year of the second millennium, and so on...

This also assumes that there have been no alterations to the calendar or errors
over the last 2000 years.
