Re: North Shore Line Duplication (New St Leonards Station)

Have you read the Parramatta -Chatswood Rail Link EIS???

The project outline only indicates the construction of the line as far as
Chatswood with a 8 car terminating road between the Up & Down North Shore
Lines. The project makes no mention of duplication of the line between
Chatswood and North Sydney/St. Leonards or turnback facilities at St.
Leonards at this time - maybe later as part of another project.

Incidentally, the plans for the new Chatswood station is to build an
additional platform on the western side (near the Telstra Exchange) for the
Down North Shore Line and reinstate the disused platform for the Up North
Shore Line. The existing platforms would be used for the Up & Down line to
Parramatta.

The junction for the Parramatta line will start just North of the Mowbray
Road bridge.
