I have a book called "Uniform Railway Gauge" by Eric Harding O.B.E., M.M.
published in 1958. It includes a removable map which shows all the rail
roads in Australia prior to introduction of Uniform Gauge. The book itself tells
all about how the break of gauge came about. It also includes costs of the
various plans for uniform gauge, commencing with the first plan over 150 years
ago.
Does this book have some historic significance or does everyone have a copy
at the rear of their dusty old book cases?
