Metro Light Rail, Sydney

On Friday I was able to escape from Canberra for the day to venture to
Sydney by Explorer. The return journey to Canberra was most pleasant than
the forward journey.

Whilst the catering is not too extensive, I did enjoy the food I had on the
train, in both directions.

Later in the day we caught the LightRail (tram to me) out to Wenworth Park
so I could check on the extensions, and I was disappointed to find only one
backhoe working there. Does anybody know when the MLR is to commence
operations to Lilyfield?

I was pleased to see they now have conductors on the trams to ensure all
passengers paid their fares, and nearly every tram I saw was full.

Trams and trains are definitely civilised ways to travel.

If CityRail must persist in having private security guards on Central
Station, it would be nice if there was a dress code, as some of those guards
look like terrorists with their 4 day old beards and rough dress.

Re the Explorer, it would be nice if Countrylink could install video screens
and play movies during the journey, with audio monitoring through walkmans.

Cheers
