Almost. The last couple of UK interlockings I designed had provision
for TPWS but the actual equipment on site was still under development.
In fact I wrote the SSI data for TPWS so when they connect the
equipment it should work. I hope. For the benefit of others who don't
know what we're raving on about, TPWS or Train Protected Warning System
is UK's answer to trainstops. But it uses a magnet, similar to AWS, I
think, to apply the brakes on a train should it pass the signal at
danger. Basically it's a cheaper version of ATP (Automatic Train
Protection).
