The STA has actually done very well on the uniform bus design. How many
different builders have built orana bodies onto their own chassis for the
STA ?.
Some of the smaller runs it is difficult to spot who made the engine/chassis,
especially if the front has been pranged and the badges haven't been refitted.

Pre-Tangara, while there were changes, the double deck stock was mostly the
same, only minor changes. There really was no reason, other than 'product'
differentiation for the Tangara to have just been an updated traction package
in a 'C' set.

4GT - no technical reason why they couldnt have had the same body as a
Tangara but have the new 3 phase motor traction package instead.
Pollies (and their railway management stooges) just want to 'leave their
mark'.
