Auran Trainz - forthcoming Train Sim

Hi All,

After seeing Microsoft enter the railway sim market and also the smaller
company who is producing Trainmaster 4.0. It seems Auran (Brisbane company
that produced the game Dark Reign 1 & 2) have entered the market also. Auran
have decided to go a couple of steps further than Microsoft and Trainmasters
driving only perspective. Auran will release Trainz as a number of separate
modules which consist of a Driving module (Shunting and mainline workings),
Controller/Dispatcher module, Surveyor/Track Constructor Module, Freight
Management module and also various locomotive plugins and also track
plugins. The game will be built from the ground up as a single player and
internet multiplayer game. One of the advantages of this design will allow
the formation of virtual railroad companies, where everyone has a specified
job. Whether it be a driver, shunter, controller, etc, its up to the end
user.

The locomotive models will be compatible with Kinetix 3D Studio Max. So if
anyone has any modelling skills, they can create their favourite locos or
multiple units etc.

Auran is listening to any suggestions the railfan community has that would
