They could go as low as they wanted to, they aren't making anything on
$33 anyway. As has been said before these seats are not on every
flight and are limited in availability, meaning that some people are
paying the full fare. The cheapies are just filling up what would have
been empty seats, at very little extra costs. 

 Secondly I would think the whole idea is to get people flying with
them and hope they like it they will come back next time (at the
higher fare).

  Interesting question for the bush laywers, is this a form of
predatory pricing? Could QANTAS or Ansett have a case for complaint
with the ACCC?
