When I travelled on the Brisbane XPT in December 1992, unfortunately I
booked to travel at the start of schoolies week. The train was mostly
about half full ex-Sydney, but economy was invaded by schoolies at
Broadmeadow, many of whom had already been celebrating for some time.
Knowing that only light beer was served on board, most had (illegally)
brought their own alcohol. A night without sleep followed, but the car I
was in reduced to about half full by Casino - mostly from passengers being
removed. :)
