Something similiar happened when I went from Grafton to Brisbane around
1995. I went to the crew, who said there was nothing they could do. When we
got to Casino, I made sure I was near the buffet when I got my phone out,
rang 013 (as it was then) asked for Finnimore, initial K (there was only one
in Sydney - you would think the GM of Countrylink would have a silent
number, wouldn't you!) and proceeded to ring him at 0330 asking him why his
staff were powerless in the face of unruly passengers. He was speechless (as
you would expect when you had just been woken at 0330 by a phone call) but
the next time I travelled, the staff were on the ball.
