That's exactly what I though of.. example XPT's consists:

<--Melbourne end
Powercar+First sleeper(A)+first class class with phone(B)+first with
buffet and disable seating(C)+Economic class(D)+economic class(E)
+Economic class(F)+Economic class(G)+Power car
                      Sydney end---->

These days one of the economic class usually gets elimiate during light
low seasons.
Normally consist won't change unless for special reason, according to
the consists pleb class passengers don't have to walk through
concession class to get to buffet.
