Re: [SA] Pinaroo, Loxton

The Loxton line was standardised and first trains ran May 1997. A new
grain terminal has been built just south of Loxton at Tookayerta to
reduce grain truck traffic in the town itself.

The Pinnaroo line remained broad gauge, with captive BG locos at Tailem
Bend, for another year and first SG trains ran November 1998. There is a
pile of earth at the eastern end of the yard right on the border to
signify the break of gauge. maybe one day the line to Ouyen will be
standardised also and through traffic can resume, now that grain traffic
has been de-regulated.

The Appamurra line carries regular traffic with triple 830's most weeks.
Probably more than ever before.
